Baja Fish Tacos

On Sunday night my sister and her boyfriend came over to fix us dinner as our Christmas gift. Since it was unreturnable we decided we better keep it! I'm glad we did.

Whenever someone is in the kitchen our dog Camo becomes sous chef.

My sister discovered that her cup had a leak in it.

The fish tacos were outstanding!

eHarmony Video

Korey and I were asked by eHarmony to make a video of ourselves telling how we are compatible. We have to send it in and maybe we can get considered for a commerical. Korey's former roommate Darren came over to film us. While we were watching what we had filmed Korey and I saw how opposite we really are. I thought I appeared boring and too serious and I thought he came across as the star of the show. Oh well! Even if we don't get considered we still have a video telling the story of how we came to be that we can show our kids one day.
After we finished filming we all went to dinner and then to Starbucks. This is Korey enjoying a salted caramel hot chocolate.

Darren and his wife Lindsay. Darren made the movie for us on his Mac.

New Year's Eve 2008

Korey and I spent New Year's Eve at the Stars game because we got tickets from Santa Claus.

Christmas 2008

I'm finally posting pics! This was our first Christmas as a married couple which was fun. Korey's mom and boyfriend came up from Houston to spend time with us and my parents. On Christmas Eve they all met at my house and I served them wassail and Korey and I decorated sugar cookies. On Christmas day we all went to my parent's house and opened gifts and stuffed ourselves with great food.

Our First Night to Entertain

Korey and I invited my parents over for dinner on Saturday night. The night's meal included Double Tomato Bruschetta and Lasagna topped off by peanut butter cookies with Reese's PB Cups (my own recipe). I'm looking forward to having many more nights of entertaining!

How to Open a Bottle of Wine

Korey and I were in Denton Friday night for a Christmas party with all of his friends. One of the girls had brought wine but unfortunately the hosts didn't own a corkscrew. So if you ever need to know how to open a bottle of wine without a corkscrew just check out the pics below.

First, the drill...

Next, comes the knife...
Then, you have to use the pliers to pull out the cork.

Success!!

Paninis - It's what's for lunch!

My sister introduced me to a panini press which I bought her last year. It makes those Panera-like sandwiches that you pay $8 for. It is so easy to use and the sandwiches taste so good. Well my sister and I introduced Korey to them and taught him how to make them. We ended up buying one after we got married. So today for lunch we mixed mayo with some basil pesto (purchased at SuperTarget) and spread it on some whole grain bread. Then we topped mine with tomatoes and fontina cheese (again at ST). Korey added pepper jack cheese and ham to his. Then to top it off Korey has been paying attention whenever I have the Food Network on because he "plated" and made it deliciously presentable!
