Ham Orchards

On Saturday we ventured off to Terrell to Ham Orchards which is known for their peaches. I had heard about it through the Dallas Morning News and decided I wanted to check it out.

Here I am standing among the blackberry bushes. Before the blackberries darken they are the color of raspberries.
A random pic of me.

A view of some of the peach trees.

I'm assuming this is the house where the owners live since it's right on the property and the orchard is family-owned. Being here was very nostalgic for me. It takes you back in time.

More blackberries.

Another view of the grounds. You aren't allowed to pick the peaches yourselves but all you have to do is walk inside the store and buy what you want...in the A/C. Who can beat that?

A closeup of the blackberries. See the red color?

Sitting underneath the pavilion where we were waiting for our hamburger order.
What I forgot to take pics of was the awesome peach ice cream! When you go inside the store you can buy tomatoes, peaches, blackberries, strawberries, pecans, and other veggies plus tons of stuff like peach salsa and soups, salad dressings, etc. In the back of the store you can buy fudge and their fabulous ice cream. We got a peach and strawberry swirl and it was awesome! There were several people sitting on the porch enjoying their ice cream. An awesome nostalgic day!
